Managing environmental issues is a high priority for the New Orleans Terminal.
We are deeply committed to integrating environmental sustainability into all
of the terminal’s operations and processes.
New Orleans Terminal’s goal is to reduce every stress on the environment through good stewardship. We are taking all the necessary actions to effectively encourage change as needed. We will use every resource to save energy, prevent pollution, reduce waste, encourage recycling and minimize emissions of greenhouse gases, ozone-depleting substances and toxic materials.

New Orleans Terminal holds a part in maintaining the delicate infrastructure of the Mississippi River and its tributaries; with this, we remain constant and vigilant in our actions to retain it as a thriving and prospering waterway for many years to come. We are cognizant of the fact that this is our home and livelihood.

We are committed to making sustainability a priority by being a responsible steward of the environment. Through conservation and sustainable practices in the community in which we operate, we will do everything possible to invest in more efficient equipment, pollution prevention, foster employee awareness and sensitive and providing a safe workplace for all of our employees, stakeholders and customers. Our Green Policy consists of:

A Proud Certified Member of Green Marine
Founded in 2007, Green Marine’s North American environmental certification program is the result of a voluntary effort by the shipping industry to go beyond regulations. More than 185 ship owners, port authorities, terminal operators, and shipyard managers throughout Canada and the United States are currently participating in the program. A pivotal element of Green Marine’s success from the outset has been the active support from environmental stakeholders, the scientific community, and governments. A significant number of more than 100 Green Marine supporters encourage the sustainability initiative, and many of them are called upon to review and shape the environmental program. Green Marine’s participants are committed to continually reducing their environmental footprint. New Orleans Terminal is a proud Green Marine member and scored high results in the 2022 Green Marine Performance Report which is valid until June 2024.
